Music makes my world go round....my Friday weekly jams!!!

Hey my wonderful peeps!  I wish I had something hilarious, witty, or clever to type out right now but to be honest my brain feels like mush. A lot of stuff going on but thankfully things are starting to look brighter and "I can see clearly now the rain is gone"....."It's gonna be a bright, bright, sunshiny day"....doesn't those lyrics just stick to you like butter???!!!!  HA, okay maybe I came up with a lil' something to giggle about....

1. Pink Mountaintops-Erected
Do me a favor, play this tune and then go kiss your significant other...DO IT!  I wouldn't call this track your typical "love song" but it's a love song in my book!

2. Led Zeppelin- Houses Of The Holy
There is no need for any explanation of this tune....I think I need to call out the good ol' air guitar again....WHAT?!!  Don't be jealous...

3. A Tribe Called Quest-Bonita Applebum
Bonita, Bonita, Bonita....holy shit this is my jam....such a feel good beat!!!!!

4. Kanye West- All Falls Down
Gotta love some old school Kanye....this song reminds me of when I moved to Florida. Cannot believe how long ago that was, feels like yesterday sometimes.....

5. The Eagles- One Of These Nights
Why do I feel like riding on a motorcycle right now.......this tune makes me want to ride a motorcycle.

6. Joan Jett- Do You Wanna Touch Me
She is such a bad ass lady!  This is a favorite Joan Jett tune of mine...

7. Beach House-10 Mile Stereo
One of my most favorite chill out songs ever....it helps me relax.

8. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers- Don't Do Me Like That
Classic jam...plain and simple

9. Lenny Kravitz- It Ain't Over Till it's Over
I miss Lenny and his dreadlocks....is it just me?  Heart you Lenny....heart this song.

10. An SNL Digital Short-3 Way (The Golden Rule) feat. Justin Timberlake & Lady Gaga
I had to add this...it makes me laugh!!!! Your welcome.

A day off to play......

Hey there....this is Chlo bear, momma and I had a day off together yesterday...this is after our walk and  "ball time"!!

Hey friends!!!  

I took a little time off  for some "me" time.  It was just what I needed.  Slept in, watched movies, got my hair did, took my doggy chlo bear for a walk, simply fabulous and exactly what the doctor ordered!  I've been letting stupid shit get to me lately and I am officially done with it.  I have to stop and smell the roses more often and remember that stressing about stuff that is out of my control is just effing dumb!  I am okay....life will go on.

First of all,  have any of you seen "This is 40"?!!!  Freaking hysterical, I watched it two times yesterday!!!  Another Judd Apatow classic....I already am reciting some of the lines in my head.  The scene when they are at the hotel and eating pot brownies KILLED ME....I had to rewind it several times because of the hilariousness!!!

This is how I roll when I get my hair did....my fabulous friend Missi and I being ridic!    She had me in tears yesterday...sorry about the pic quality...this was a "oh shit, let's take a quick photo of our shenanigans"...

I really believe that to be true.  Being a hair stylist myself and witnessing the pure joy on my client's faces when I transform their look into something  different is what god put me on this earth to do.  I may be exhausted from working another job and building my business on top of it but damnit I will never give up what I love the most.

As women, I feel like our hair can really make or break our spirit.  With a new do' it can move mountains and make a miracle happen when we are having a bad day, week or even month!  It's a canvas that will always be beautiful to me.  Seeing how different everyone is with their hair it's pure magic in my opinion.

When I cut off all my locks last year, I thought it was going to change me...the person I am.  Thankfully,  It made me feel alive, like a new human being and I don't know if I will ever go back to long hair.  I know, I know never say never but I genuinely feel like I was made to have short hair.  I go this week to get my mop cut and colored and could not be more excited to change it up a bit!!!!!!!

This is one of my favorite quotes ever....well said Ms. Crawford ;-)

The photos above are inspirations for my hair....I am tempted to chop my hair off super short again...it's such a great feeling!  I honestly do not care what my husband thinks either....you do not know how many times I have been told by him "I really do not like your hair like that"....well that's too damn bad....I never promised to obey haha!!!  It's my hair and my style and I do what I want!!!    I say embrace your inspirations or ideas with the possibilities of transforming your look.  You only live once and be ballsy and just do it!!!  

Be true to yourself and what you want in your look, do not be afraid to take risks....I admire so many women out there that just go gutsy and work it!!!!

Whenever I listen to this hit I start thinking how much I love my man...I promise I won't turn this into a sappy violin playing paragraph, LOL!  It's just a fantastic love song...many of you probably know this and consider it one of your "songs" you share with your "luvah"!!!!  If you want to feel good and smile, listen here....

2. Outkast- Da Art of Storytellin' (Part 1)
 This jam is off of  their third album Aquemini.  One of the best Outkast albums in my opinion...such a awesome throwback back in the day song!!!

3. Prince- When Doves Cry
OMG...this song....Purple Rain!!!!  Prince is the s@*t!!!

4. Smoking Popes-I Need You Around
This song will always remind me of the movie Clueless...probably because it was featured on the movie soundtrack...hehe!!!!!

5. Lykke Li- I'm Good, I'm Gone
I love some Lykke Li!!!  She has such a pretty voice and her music never disappoints!!!  Take a listen here.

This indie rock band is glamtastic!!!  This song is the first single featured on their second album "Show your Bones."

7. Alicia Keys-You Don't Know My Name
This song came out when I first met my husband....this always reminds me of that time in my life!  And the video is amazing!!!!

8. Def Leppard-Animal
Gotta love some old school Def Lep!!!  Love 80's rocker hair bands, hehe!!!!!!

9. Alabama Shakes-I Found You
This band is incredible!!!  This lady has got some definite SOUL!!!!!!

10. LCD Soundsystem- I Can Change
This jam will be blaring in my car speakers tonight on the way home from work, because it's cool like that!
