The things I miss the most….

Hola pals!!

I am currently relaxing on our new sectional sofa and it's great!!!  Will post pics once I have added the appropriate embellishments (winky wink)!!!     Anywho,  I am sure many of you who are mommies had a list of things or pre pregnancy routines  they would look forward to after they delivered their bundle of joy.   Not to be negative, but you all have to allow me to let this out.  Just because I am complaining doesn't mean I do not appreciate that I have had a  pretty easy pregnancy thus far, but I have had probably every annoying symptom of pregnancy, and I am ready for it to be done.  I feel like I am about to break in half…she is taking over my body like an alien.  I hurt all over, I often cannot sleep at all due to the heartburn and having to urinate every 10 mins, and the pressure and pain in my pelvic region feels like I have been riding on an old 80's ten speed bicycle for probably about 100 years….no joke!!!   Add walking to that pressure….it's not fun!   Anyway I guess my biggest thing is this…please do not tell me that I should be grateful or to stop complaining "at least you can experience it"….. it makes me want to scream!   If I told all of you that this experience has been the most beautiful and I loved every minute, is a complete lie.

I am determined to get back what I once loved and experience the following…

1.  My skinny jeans.  (I spent hard earned moola on some expensive ones and I will get back into them).
2.  Being able to sleep on my stomach ( I realize my sleep will be limited for some time after our lil girl arrives, but even if I can sleep on my stomach for a couple hours at a time, will be worth it)
3.  Running again…I cannot wait to start my running journey back up again.  I decided to take a hiatus when I became pregnant because for one I was vomiting so badly in the beginning and I just was paranoid of overdoing if incase I was high risk or anything risky in general.  I plan to run another half marathon next year and I cannot wait to train!
4. Having a cocktail or a delicious craft beer  I enjoy cuddling on the couch with my hubster and just enjoying each others company and sharing a bevy.  Or sharing a glass of vino with a BFF….those are good times I tell ya!
5. This is funny, but I want to be able to clean my house in record time.  Now, I am lucky if I can scrub a toilet without feeling winded and having to lie on the couch after every move.  Or to just be able to complete common tasks without wanting to crawl in the fetal position due to the pressure of my belly, LOL!!!

Those are just a few, but friends believe me when I say this.  I know mommy hood will be wonderful, I know that all I have been experiencing will all be forgotten when she comes into this world.  I cannot wait  for my hubby and I to be parents and to share this together.

Have a swell day peeps,
Dinah xo

Before and after of a DIY baby dresser/changing table!!!

Hey hey!!!

So did I ever mention to you all that my hubster is a bad ass when it comes to transforming things?  Well we both knew we wanted to go antiquing and find a dresser that was cheap and that we could re do and paint.  I was not a fan of spending an arm and a leg on a faux wood dresser that would fall apart and lacked originality.  So…here are some photos of the transformation of our baby girl's dresser/changing table!!!!

Before…only 98 buckaroos for this gem.  Solid wood!!!  Cannot beat that!

My hubby's hard working elbow grease removed/stripped and sanded….

And after….this dresser is so precious now, and looks brand new.   We just had to replace the dresser handles and picked out the perfect color for us.  And plenty of space!

This pic is just to show you the hand stenciled paint job that my hubster also did…her initials.  Still gives me goosies.  We love you already baby girl and cannot wait to have you in our arms.

Next on the agenda is to get her nursery all set up.  I am sure that will start in the next week or two.

Have a great day peeps,
Dinah xo

A big hurdle complete…and I'm back!

Hello friends!

It has definitely been a long time since I have graced my presence on the sunshine train!!  Sorry pals.  I love you all and have missed blogging and all it entails terribly!  As you all read,  I announced in mid September that the hubster and I were planning to relocate to Madison, Wisconsin due to his job.  Well I took a much needed break so I could finish up the chapter that I will miss terribly in Richmond, VA. Closing that chapter was extremely stressful and hard for me.  I made some very special friends and the thought of leaving it made my insides hurt.  Not to seem so dramatic but it's true.

Anyhow, we made it safely to Madison and are officially homeowners to a beautiful home.  We are very lucky and fortunate that it all fell into place as quickly as it did.  Thank you god for that.  I feel extremely blessed to have a hardworking hubby who takes care of me and took care of all the heavy lifting.  He made this process very easy for me to transition into.  I am currently at my 32 week mark of pregnancy and I am doing great.  I have the common prego symptoms that are annoying but I am trying to just take it in stride.  I have gained roughly 35 pounds and I have been told I am all belly….I hope that works in my favor when our little girl arrives…hopefully I will lose the baby weight safely and will get back to (or close to) the weight before I became pregnant.

Just wanted to say hello to you all and just say that I really look forward to begin my blogging journey back up again and share with you all the exciting experiences that I am about to embrace these next couple months.      And below are some shots that my hubster captured on our last day in Richmond….goodbye RVA, we love you and all our peeps!

See you soon, and I promise it will not be for as long…. ;-)

Peace xo,
Dinah

You say it's your birthday....a week late!

Yeah...I am officially a year older!  31 to be exact!  This was definitely a different type of celebration this year...with my baby girl cooking in my belly, no cocktails and limo buses or wine lofts for me ;-)  But it was a great low key day!

I think if I had to compose a wish list of some things I would want on my birthday in fantasy land...here is the ultimate daydream...

1. A custom tattoo by Kat Von D
2. A Marc Jacobs hand bag or three ;-)
3. A private jet to take my best friends, hubby and family to private resort all expenses paid
4. A closet the size of my house
5. A lifetime supply of Jeffrey Campbell shoes
6. Red lipstick in every brand  (a girl can never have enough red)
7. Hair and makeup stylist  (every girl would love this)
8. A chance to personally interview my celeb crushes....to learn more about who these fancies are...read this.
9. Have an apartment to style hair, be creative
10. Never grow old (hehe)

I think that no matter what I am lucky to be a year older and was able to say I am happy, healthy and going to be a mommy!  But we are all able to dream big and stare off into space as to what would be the ultimate birthday wish list!  You all have them!  Let me hear em'

Love,
Dinah xo

Movin on up....take two!!!!

Hey friends!!!

So I had posted a big announcement a couple days back and had to do a little re arranging!   So here is a take two to keep all my friends in the loop!!

My hubby and I are moving to Madison, Wisconsin in November due to his job!  We are very excited to be embarking on a new journey and since we are both from Michigan we will be so much closer to our families which is a huge plus for our baby girl being due in early January!!!  So, alot on my plate emotionally!   I feel as though every day I am over thinking and stressed just trying to wrap my head around getting everything ready and tying up loose ends.   Daily questions in my head go like this... "Will we be settled in a new home in time before I go into labor"?  "Will I like the new doctor I am going to be seeing so close to the end of my pregnancy"?  "Will I meet new friends with similar interests"?   You get the picture!  I think moving, and having a baby is a big deal considering doing both at the same time...

I will be extremely sad to say goodbye to some wonderful friends I have made here in good ol' Richmond.  I know the goodbyes are not forever, just so long for now.  So again, this post is dedicated to all my great peeps here in Richmond!  Love you all!!!

Peace and stay tuned for more!

Feeling a little overwhelmed but cannot let that get me down!!!

My lord long time no see my friends!!

I am not going to say sorry for not posting much, because I have read in many blogs and will admit myself that when life is throwing stuff at you, you have to face it and just live it and even though I love posting and sharing with you all, I am going to put my life first and foremost!

First of all, I am happy to know they finally I mean FINALLY chose some actors for the much anticipated "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.  Let me just say this....I am not overly disappointed.  I really knew they weren't going to pick the actor I wanted most to play Christian  because he is currently involved with the Man of Steel franchise and will be shooting for the second installment next year.  "Henry Cavill, if you are listening...in my heart I know you will always be my Christian Grey ;-)
And this is how I picture him greeting me in the morning....hello my love!!!

Okay, okay back to the topic....I think who they chose for Christian and Ana will probably work out great.  And..I may or may not have indulged in a Sons of Anarchy marathon on Netflix to better prep myself to see Jax transform into Christian...I think he definitely has the potential of portraying Mr. Fifty Shades of F%&cked up!  They just need to prep his look to have some darker hair and features but that is the joy of being in Hollywood.

For Ana, I am very excited to see this girl take on the character.  I always pictured an Amanda Seyfried esque type face, pale complexion.  I know of course they will darken her hair (thanks to hollywood)  but her features resemble what I have pictured in the books so I think this is a great move!  We shall see.   I am going to say this now.  I never wanted an all star cast.  I wanted actors who are not so sensationalized by post large roles and can actually act, as opposed to just having good looks.  This movie can be ruined by examples such as that!  Not everyone feels that way but who the hell cares!!

On a different note...there are some crazy changes going on right now in my life again!  Not bad at all but again I am going to be cryptic and annoying because not all is panned out and I do not want to disclose too much that could potentially cause any more craziness in my marriage or household, so stay tuned my loves!!!

Love you all,
Dinah xo

Liquid foundation...friend or foe?? (And small product review)

Good morning all you fabulous peeps!!!

So for years I have always worn powder foundation/dual coverage pressed foundation because I have always had oily/problematic skin.  The last few months or so I have been so eager and ready to take on a new foundation and wanted to lean towards a liquid perhaps because I am no longer in my 20's and think for a 30 something woman I should try something a little more friendly for my ever changing skin.  I guess for so long I have been cautious and nervous to wear liquid foundation on my skin because of all the issues I have dealt with in the past.  I have done makeup on many ladies for weddings and special events and have always loved using liquid for them, but why not me??!!!

I went to Sephora and actually was able to have the fabulous lady there match my skin tone with their new state of the art Sephora-Pantone Color IQ service.  She took this little camera device and put it up to my skin and what it does is pinpoint and matches your skin tone to over 1,500 foundations in store or online so you will never be left wearing the wrong shade of foundation ever again!  Isn't that neat?   If you do not have the time to venture in to one of their locations, try it out online!  And if you use a specific shade already from there or another brand that they carry and you have purchased elsewhere you can still find a match.

My match number is 3R05 and since I wanted to try a liquid foundation this time she matched me with Clinique Even Better Makeup SPF 15 in Cream Whip

I absolutely am in love with this foundation...I feel like now I have a "glow" and no more cakey matted down makeup.  She applied the foundation with their Sephora Pro Flawless Airbrush foundation brushes in numbers 55 and 56 and I liked them however they are not cheap ($34.00 a piece holy moly)  and after trying at home I decided that using a cheaper sponge or my fingers I have a much better result.  I returned those bad boys in exchange for makeup that I love or have been dying to buy!

I highly recommend you trying out this color IQ service at Sephora if you haven't already done so, its free and you will end up surprised at what your tone actually comes out to be!

Now, I cannot believe I am finally going to be getting my hands on this popular eye makeup palette.  For probably a year or so I have always been curious but never wanted to purchase.  I ordered for my early birthday present the Urban Decay's Naked 2 Palette.  I know many of you have used this and LOVED!!  I thought about the original naked palette but those colors weren't catching my eye as much as the Naked 2.  Cannot wait to use my friends!!

Well stay tuned folks, I will be posting some before and after shots of the antique dresser we found for a steal at 98 bucks for our baby girl's room!!!  My hubby is going to be completely stripping (oooh la la) hehe and re painting this piece, its going to look amazing!!!

Peace xo,
Dinah

"What's up with THAT"?!

I know what some of you may be thinking...am I referring to the funny SNL skit, "What's up with that"?  Nope...but I have to jump up on my sunshine soap box on some topics this Friday on things I have witnessed and have to think to myself...really..."What's up with THAT"?!

First!  Okay, why is it when you are going to the restroom at work and you hear other ladies surrounding you clearly using the facilities and even dropping a number 2 in there, (sorry)  and they leave the stall and walk right out of the bathroom without even washing their hands?!!!  SERIOUSLY!!!  I am getting angry just typing this.  Or hearing the "swish, swish" for a total of 5 seconds??  Okay, your not fooling anyone. I know you probably think you have fooled me by turning the water on and running your hands under it for 5 seconds but ya didn't.... But come on y'all  "What's up with THAT"?

Come on bitches...get stuff done and wash your grimy poopy hands!!!  Boom!

Second...I feel as though lately I get weird stares from strangers when I am either walking to my car, walking in a mall or just in public period.  Especially the dudes...they stare right at my belly as though I am mutating the next big alien movie character and they just cannot look away.  I AM PREGNANT not growing three heads.  Jeeze..."What's up with THAT"??
Imagine me staring back and then bombing them with this expression... I guess I could make them think that I am actually an alien.....I will haunt you in your sleep you crazy looker ;-)  I kid I kid!

And third....WAS ANYBODY JUST COMPLETELY DUMBFOUNDED WITH HBO'S TRUE BLOOD this season?  I wanted to throw a book at the television every Sunday evening.  I have been such a die hard fan of this series and read the books and it just has gotten so stupid.  Even the acting is just awful.  WHY????  WHY????  AND...WHAT'S UP WITH THAT????

Have you witnessed any whats up with that moments lately? Pour it out to me...

Peace and TGIF,
Dinah xo

A little rock n roll up in your maternity clothes....

Hey friends!!!  Just a brief couple of shots that my hubster took last weekend.  This is what I live in when I am not working.  I am currently loving these H&M maternity pants (thanks to my sister in law who gifted these to me)  I LOVE THEM!!!  And it has a comfy band that is attached so it really feels great on my growing belly.  My top I actually purchased in Sao Paulo, Brazil last summer...gotta love the Ramones and its the most comfy and versatile top!  Muah!!!

The words I never thought I would hear..."You're a D cup ma'am"

Yep...you got it friends...I finally had to go "bra" shopping yesterday because let's face it, when you are 5 months pregnant and trying to squeeze your boobies into your current/pre pregnancy bra...it feels like you are being encased like a sausage.  I actually had to pull over in my car and take off my strapless bra the other day, it was unbearable...but I just wanted to wait as long as I could so I wasn't having to purchase more than necessary.  So I marched myself into my favorite department store yesterday and the gates of heaven opened up and I finally got some relief.  The sales lady at Nordstrom had me try some new bras on and then after squeezing into a C cup...she looked at me and said "Ma'am", you are going to need a D cup size". "WHA, WHA, WHAT"?!!!  LOL  I guess this B cup girl just couldn't believe it.
That is how my lady lumps felt after she fitted me in my new bra....

And this is how I must have looked in the dressing room...

After trying several different brands on, the sales lady had me try on a "Calvin Klein Seductive Comfort customized lift bra"  and I was a little weary since it had underwire but surprisingly it fit amazing and so comfortable!  You can find these at probably most department stores I am sure.

So ladies...and sorry to the gents who chose to read this....I am now a proud owner of two D cup bras and it feels damn good!!  If it wasn't for my enlarged belly I probably would have skipped and hopped all the way to my car.  She even cut the tags and let me wear it home...thanks sales lady at Nordstrom...you rock!!!

Happy Friday peeps,
Dinah xo

An ode to my loves.....

I sit here thinking...thinking of all the memories I have shared with my hubster.  Thinking of when we first met, our first date, to our big adventure moving down to sunny Florida when we were so young.  It is truly incredible to me how much we have grown as individuals and as a couple. Over the weekend I decided to spruce up my playlist on my ipod/iphone and there are so many tunes that remind me of our lives together.  Songs that I remember being popular when we first met, to songs that just remind me of him and us.

Only about 2 months of dating in the books circa 2003...and my hair haha!
"Shake it like a polaroid picture"....that was the jam...Hey Ya!

Saying goodbye to my parents...en route to the sunshine state....ripe age of 21. Circa 04'  I remember my mother shedding many tears as we pulled out of their driveway.

Our engagement.....

Our wedding day....

To today....I love you!  Look at how far we have come....

and this...
and to think tomorrow we will find out what our lil angel will be....

Peace,
Dinah xo

Here are just a couple pics my talented hubby took of my 19 week belly over the weekend.  He definitely has an eye for location, sometimes at first I question the spots he chooses, but the finished look always impresses me.  Love that man!

So only 2 more days until we find out if our peanut is a BOY or GIRL!!!!  I am nervous, excited, thrilled and feel so blessed that we have come this far.

Any guesses friends??  Hehe

Will keep you posted xo

A little Friday humor....

I have never been so happy to have the weekend almost here.

I can't really partake in happy hours currently but I would be happy to trade that for a cheeseburger...just sayin' or frozen yogurt...hehe

This is how hungry I am .....24/7  I am surprised I haven't tried to sneak food in bed with me at night....that would be a sad sight...and gross perhaps

AND IS ANYBODY AS EXCITED AS I AM THAT H&M IS NOW OPEN FOR BUSINESS FOR ONLINE SHOPPING?????  I DIE!!!!!!

Have a lovely weekend peeps,

The Messy Project Reveal.......

I am beyond thrilled and excited to once again be a part of this amazing and super fun project!!  I cannot say it enough, this project  really speaks volumes in allowing each individual involved  to truly express themselves style wise and also lets you put your own artistic touch on how you would normally dress!  Again, I do not follow every trend out there and when I discovered Kelly's blog I just knew I had to be a part of this project!!!   I also want to give her a huge shout out to by saying Happy Anniversary Messy Project, this project is 1 year old!!!!  Congrats Kelly, you are an inspiration to me and so many others!

I know from my personal styling experience that a lot of people have trouble styling certain items. They may look at a top and instantly think "I can't wear that...what would I do with that"?  So I wanted to find a fun way to interact with other bloggers incorporating fashion help. Something to convey who we are and show our style. To put our creative minds to work. To challenge us to step outside the box.  To express our inner fashionista. To show people the different ways to style an item depending on your body type and you.
-Kelly @Messydirtyhair

The Deal:
1 Item
5 Girls
5 Different Looks
1 Major Blog Post Day

My husband as always did a fantastic job taking shots of my piece and what I chose to pair it with,  As many of you know, I am 17+ weeks pregnant so I definitely wanted to make sure I dressed this piece up to look great on my ever changing figure lately!

I chose to pair my tunic with:
Hot pink heels from H&M
Necklace from Baublebar
Earrings from Baublebar
Dark Grey Camisole from Forever 21
Wayfarers from Rayban

Would love to hear your thoughts, let me know what you think!!!

I am so honored to be a part of this project again, especially since its a special edition marking its 1 year anniversary.   I am stoked and feel so fortunate to have been joined with the other fabulous ladies who are dressing up this piece in their own way, everyone's individual take on styling  just gives me such a great feeling of happiness!

Be sure to check out the other fantastic ladies's on how they chose to style up this piece and what accessories they chose to express themselves.

And last but NOT least  Kelly @ MessyDirtyHair

I really hope you all enjoyed!!!!  Again, if you are ever interested in joining the Messy Project, please reach out and put yourself out there!!!  Don't be shy ;-)  I am so glad I did!!!  I look forward to hopefully being a part of it again in the future!

We can all express ourselves in our own way and be absolutely gorgeous!  This is such a great example that we are all different and have a cool sense of style!

Tag post: 13 personal questions....

I am so excited to share this tag that the awesome Shannon from The Creation of Beauty is Art posted on her blog a couple days ago!!!!  So please check out her page and what she answered on these questions as well!!!  This tag is for everyone, so definitely re post and I would love to know what your answers are too!!!

1. What do you order at Starbucks?
I am not a coffee drinker really and now that I am pregnant I am definitely not, but I love their protein packs that are offered there.  It comes with Cheese, crackers, fruit and an egg...a great healthy mini lunch or snack!!!

2. What's one thing in your closet that you can't live without?
Well....usually its my skinny jeans!!!!  I am a jean and vintage t-shirt girl and when I am not at work that is what I love to live in....and now since I am gaining weight I live in my maternity skinny jeans and any top that that I feel great in right now!!!

3. What's one thing that most people do not know about you?
I am kind of an open book....but this is something I usually never reveal since its embarrassing.  I often talk to myself when I am either home cleaning, or driving in my car running errands.  I find that I have an internal check list and when I talk it out loud I find it comforting and able to get stuff done!

4. What is one thing you want to do before you die?
Would love to travel to New Zealand with my husband and children someday.  That is a trip of a lifetime in my opinion.

5. What's one food you cannot live without?
Mexican food....hands down!

6. What is one quote that you live your life by?
I don't really live by a specific quote per say, but this quote always brings me so much joy and happiness.... "Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you". -Dr. Seuss.   This quote reminds me that we are all different and have so much to offer, so wanting to be like someone else just holds you back from what you truly have to offer.

7. What do you like and dislike about the blogging community?
I really like all the individual creativity that I see on a daily basis while blogging. It's refreshing!  What I truly dislike?  I think some bloggers are only concerned about having a huge following and only do posts about giveaways to gain followers when they aren't really revealing content that is worth reading.  No offense to anyone who does that, it's just not my thing and I choose to read blogs for the content that it offers.  I also get annoyed when you are showing a blogger love by truly responding to their posts because you really love to read their content and they never, EVER respond to yours!!! Don't be a blog snob...we are not celebrities, we are normal, every day people who love to blog just like everyone else!   (sorry, I am off my soapbox now)

8. What's your number one song on your ipod/itunes?
Right now....it's "Feel So Close to you" By Calvin Harris

9. What kind of style would you describe yourself as having?
I am a true vintage/edgy girl.  Anything with a little rock and some pizzaz...that's my style calling.

10. Favorite number?
25

11. What are two of your hobbies?
Definitely watching movies, and hanging out with my hubster/friends/family!!!!

12. What are two of your pet peeves?
I dislike people who are rude and inconsiderate for no reason,  and backseat drivers.

13. What is your guilty pleasure?
Any real housewives show on Bravo TV....

Hope you enjoyed reading, and again PLEASE feel free to tag this on your post and have fun!!!!  Tomorrow is the BIG REVEAL for The Messy Project, and cannot wait to share with you all what I did with my piece!!!!  If you are unfamiliar, please visit my friend Kelly @ Messydirtyhair.com and learn more!!!!  She is fantastic!!!

Weekly prego newsletter...LOL

Good morning and happy Monday peeps!!!

I figured I would begin sharing the little changes that have been going on with my pregnancy since pretty soon I will be at the 18-20 week mark and I know its going to seriously fly by so I would like to share some of the exciting tidbits that I am learning along the way!!!

Where am I at now?
I am currently 17 weeks and one day exactly!!!  Feeling okay so far....experiencing some back pain mainly due to sleep but thank goodness I purchased this gem.....hehe  It really helps support my back and belly, and now I am having an easier time getting comfortable and staying that way through out the night.  I find these images pretty funny to look at.  The lady looks like she is having a party in her pj's with that pillow....LOL   Do I own those type of pj's?  NOPE....

Our little peanut is the size of an "Onion" currently.  Weighing at about 5 ounces and measuring at about 5 inches long from head to bottom!!  Exciting stuff for sure!!!

I really thought that I would be exercising just like I would pre pregnancy....that just didn't happen for me since I was so sick during those first 12 weeks.  I went on a 3 mile walk with my hubby and doggy yesterday and it felt good, although the heat kinda makes it less enjoyable.  I try and stretch every night before bed and after walking and it helps.  The hubster is very encouraging when it comes to staying active...

Countdown is getting much closer to find out if we have a little girl or boy to come!!!  Almost 2 weeks away!   I am still feeling girl.....but of course I could be completely wrong!  I have no preference at all as long as we have a healthy little sweetie, I could care less!!!  I actually had someone ask me if I would be disappointed in whether or not I was hoping for a certain sex, and maybe its just the hormones raging in me but I kinda got annoyed and was like "why would I care"... LOL  Some people....

Stay tuned for some more sunshine this week,  OH and I am part of another fabulous "Messy Dirty Hair" project being revealed on Wednesday!  I love being part of this and if you are unfamiliar please go check out one of my favorite bloggy friends  Kelly @ messydirtyhair.com

Peace,
Dinah xo

Another reason why I LOVE Michelle Williams

Happy Friday friends!!!

Long time no see I know....I have not been blogging as much but I feel great not feeling so much pressure to post every day.

Has anyone caught their eye on the new ad Michelle Williams posed for Louis Vuitton?  I die over this.  This is now the billionth reason why I adore her so much.  She looks absolutely stunning and flawless in these photographs. Swooooon...... and her hair?!!!  Shut the front door, its incredible.   I have to admit I was kinda worried when she started growing out her hair, but wow I am so loving the direction her hair is going to now!   Michelle....you are my hero!    So can you tell yet how much I love this lady?  HAHA!!!!

And...I love the new bag she is holding too....not a typical Louis Vuitton that I am used to seeing...its a little more modern and maybe even a little edgy in my opinion!!

Peace,
Dinah

"I don't wanna work...I wanna bang on the drum all day".....

Who really wants to work especially on a Friday when you are almost there....inches away from that weekend you have been waiting for since the dreaded Monday?!!  I haven't done a Friday playlist in a while, so here is my jam list for the week!!!   Again, if you are new to Sunshine Super Glam, I do not listen to a lot of current top 40 music...its just not my thing.  I am an old school/indie artist kinda lady, that is just how I roll!!!

Lil Kim feat. Lil Cease- Crush on You    (blast from the past for sure)

The Smashing Pumpkins- Cherub Rock

Pearl Jam- Corduroy

Incubus- Talk Shows On Mute

Jane's Addiction- Stop!

Alexander- Bad Bad Love

Blondie- The Tide is High

Chicago-Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is

Coldplay- Spies

Mason Williams-Classical Gas

Keep calm and let the music play,

New products I am trying...and small review

Hey hey!!!

I have purchased a few products to pamper myself during my pregnancy.  First of all, I have only been using them for about 4 days now but OH MY GERRRRRD love them all!!!

First on the docket are Origins Checks and Balances Frothy face wash and United State Balancing Tonic

I have said this over and over again.  This girl has had a run with acne.  It was really bad in my first trimester, just awful...but now (knock on wood) my face has improved tremendously.   The acne cleansers I was using approved from my doctor were doing nothing but drying my face out and irritating it more....so I did some research on more natural products and I chatted with an Origins expert that suggested I use something that will balance my skin since my hormones are all over the place.  So glad I did, these products are amazing and smell awesome!

Second is Clarins Huile Tonic body treatment oil.  I have heard from family and close friends how incredible this product is for the prevention and appearance of stretch marks.  I haven't had an issue as of yet, but I know later in my pregnancy I will definitely need to lube and lather up my body to prevent.  This oil smells like a high end day spa...I use it right after I shower when my body is still damp.  I focus on the areas that are prone to stretch marks such as breasts, belly, thighs, and lets not forget our booties girls!!!!   The oil is not greasy at all and it feels so luxurious!  A little goes a long way so I would not use a ton, plus its a waste to use more than needed anyhow am I right?!!!!  I tend to focus a lot on my breasts since I already have stretch marks from earlier in my 20's due to weight gain/loss.  But use your judgement on what you feel is best.

Well folks, I hope you enjoyed this review and if you have used these products in the past or currently, I would love to hear about your experiences.  Today is a great day,  I am feeling somewhat normal considering I have had a heck of a time in these past couple of months getting over nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headaches, you name it!!!   I woke up feeling the sunshine I have missed for a while.

Love,

My idea of our perfect nursery....

Good morning peeps!!!

So, my hubby and I scheduled our gender reveal ultrasound for AUGUST 14TH!!!!!!   So excited and cannot wait to know if we have a lil lady coming or a lil man....either way I would be over joyed!!!  I have no preference whatsoever!!!   So, with that in our minds we have definitely had some ideas (well I have had ideas) LOL on what would look awesome for the nursery.  I am just going to put this out there now,  I am not going to do a "themed" baby room...it's just not what I want.  The baby is going to have no clue what the heck is in their room.  I want it to be cute, but sort of minimal and color schemed.  Here are some ideas that I have found on pinterest, etc...that I am loving!!   And, I can totally find a lot of these items on consignment and spend half the money!!  BONUS!   Let's face the music....budgeting and saving as much money as you can is a win win when you are trying to get your lives ready for your bundle of joy coming!!!

I love the idea of having a bright dresser and adding little accessories along the way...too cute!!!

I am dying over this....anything vintage that can be spruced up with a little paint is an A+ in my book!

ADORABLE for a little baby boy....I love the old school vibe!!!

And for a little lady.....not too keen on the changing table fabric but that could be changed!

I think it is absolutely amazing what you can do with an old dresser and a little bit of paint!!!  If you are more of a themed person, I totally get it and that is cool if that is your thing.  I am a vintage girl for sure so I definitely want my baby's room to have a vintage feel....cannot wait to know the sex of our baby peanut, come on August 14th!!!!!

Peace,

Just dealing today.....

Hi friends,

I have had what seems like the worst headache of my life lately....never used to experience migraines only sinus headaches, but now...this is day 3 of constant/awful headaches.  Just trying to deal with the pain and try to focus on the positive.  I have been reading in all my pregnancy books that its normal for some woman to start to get migraines or just bad headaches during their pregnancies.  I am going in for my 15 week check up with my doctor today and hopefully she might have some insight as to what I should do.   I know I am hydrated and properly nourished...all I do all day long is drink and eat, LOL!!!  Not that I am wishing summer to be gone, but I am ready for fall....these hot temps make me feel worse.

I know that so many women experience pregnancy different.  Somehow I thought I would be running half marathons and kicking butt like I normally would.  That is just not the case for me.  I am either too tired or moody to even function some days.  I just wish I had a little more sunshine to spread.  Wish my hubby and I had our families up north closer to us so we could spend time together and I could lean on them like I wish I could right now.    I know in the end it will all be worth it.  I just haven't had the greatest of experiences thus far....

Thanks for listening peeps....

Maternity fashion...yay or nay?

So, I have a love/hate relationship with the thought of wearing certain maternity clothing.  I think everyone has a right to their own sense of style and should be able to express themselves however they choose, and I think us pregnant ladies also need to be able to express ourselves too.  I just hate half of the maternity fashion out there today...sorry!   I like to dress with an edge and some spunk and do not want to look like a person who is being drowned in a mumu.  Not going to lie,  Motherhood, pea in a pod, and destination maternity is barfville for me.  I hate it and refuse to shop there.   I think a lot of women look great in what ever they want to wear while they are expecting.  We are all individuals with completely different tastes and I think that is what makes us all interesting and great.    I like vintage, rock n roll and edgy....so my mission to keep that in my wardrobe will happen!!!   I do not mind shopping at certain places for basic stuff like leggings, and dress pants maybe throw in a tank top or two!

I have found that these two websites are probably my savior when it comes to variety and a little spunk....
Top Shop Maternity  and Asos Maternity

These outfits are just adorbs!!!!

I wanted to include some Top Shop items but their website doesn't show models wearing them!!!

I am holding out and making the most out of my normal size clothes as long as I can...and I think I will definitely be investing in a few awesome items from these fantastic sites!

Anyone who has worn maternity in the past, did you have a specific place or shop that you loved?

Peace,
Dinah xo
